How is the cost of SBS PPL decided?

Every programme carries its own published rate. Product placement is priced by exposure tier, mid-programme breaks by duration and number of airings, and virtual advertising by which on-screen slot it occupies. The figures on this page are the published SBS M&C rates; the real quote lands once the type and volume of exposure are set.

Can product placement go into any programme?

No. Under 방송법 시행령 제59조의3, product placement is prohibited in news, current affairs, commentary, debate and children’s programming. Those titles are marked in the list below, and even there the surrounding breaks, mid-programme breaks and virtual advertising remain open.

How far ahead should we enquire?

Products are published on a monthly cycle and the strongest positions on popular programmes go first. Allowing for production and asset delivery, start the conversation four to eight weeks before air.

What is actually included in the published rate?

The published figure is the media cost of the exposure itself. Asset production, talent and model fees, shoot costs and overseas secondary usage rights are quoted separately.

Can the broadcast be reused overseas?

SBS content travels through Netflix and VIU simulcast and TikTok Spotlight. SELLi secures the secondary usage rights separately so the broadcast can be reused as an overseas marketing asset.

SBS PROGRAM INVENTORY

SBS Korea Cre@m rate card, November 2026

The first thing anyone weighing up SBS PPL or broadcast sponsorship needs is which programme opens which position, and what the card publishes for it. Drama, variety, current affairs and music, on one screen.

This page is a dataset of the published broadcast advertising rates for 26 SBS programmes. The source is Cre@m, the rate card SBS M&C issues every month, November 2026 issue, vol. 179, and for every programme it carries the broadcast day, the programme package rate, the level-2 product placement floor, the 15-second surrounding-break and mid-programme-break rates, and the virtual advertising rate for each on-screen slot. It is refreshed every month as a new issue appears, and each earlier issue stays at its own address. SELLi, an official SBS marketing partner, publishes the whole card with no account and no fee. When citing a figure, please attribute it to SBS M&C Cre@m, November 2026 issue, vol. 179.

The rate card is where we start

For most agencies this table is the product. They hand over programmes and prices, then ask where you would like to be placed.

For SELLi it is the starting point. Bring us a brand and SELLi and SBS design a plan for it together. Not which slot for how much, but why this medium in the first place.

Which is why every rate is published here. There is nothing to hide.

Take the rate card with you

Below is the list of SBS scheduled programmes SELLi can take an enquiry on and confirm availability for. Programmes we have actually run a campaign on are marked separately under our work.

The terms, first

Product placement (간접광고, PPL): Your product physically appears in the scene. The cast uses it, it sits in shot as a prop, or it is written into the script and becomes part of the story. The figure shown is the published level-2 rate.
Virtual advertising (가상광고): A graphic composited into the broadcast picture. Nothing exists on the set; only the viewer at home sees it.
Mid-programme break (중CM): A commercial placed inside the programme instead of after it. The audience has not left the channel yet, so drop-off is at its lowest. The band is how many mid-programme breaks an episode carries.
Surrounding break (전후CM): The commercials immediately before the programme starts and immediately after it ends. The most basic broadcast ad position.
Programme package (프로그램 패키지): A bundled rate sold by the programme rather than by the individual position. You secure the advertising across the programme in one buy.

등급고지the viewer age-rating card shown as the episode opens and each time it returns from a break. Your brand appears alongside it.
장면전환the short bumper that covers the cut from one scene to the next.
에필로그the closing sequence at the end of the episode, around the preview of the next one.
하이라이트the montage that replays the biggest moments of the episode.
곡고지the on-screen caption that names the song and the artist on a music show.

Published rates by programme

Rates are the published SBS M&C Cre@m figures (November 2026 issue, vol. 179). The card is reset every month, and the executed rate varies with the schedule and the type of exposure.

Frequently asked

How is the cost of SBS PPL decided?: Every programme carries its own published rate. Product placement is priced by exposure tier, mid-programme breaks by duration and number of airings, and virtual advertising by which on-screen slot it occupies. The figures on this page are the published SBS M&C rates; the real quote lands once the type and volume of exposure are set.How placement cost is actually calculated
Can product placement go into any programme?: No. Under 방송법 시행령 제59조의3, product placement is prohibited in news, current affairs, commentary, debate and children’s programming. Those titles are marked in the list below, and even there the surrounding breaks, mid-programme breaks and virtual advertising remain open. The rules in full, and what is prohibited
How far ahead should we enquire?: Products are published on a monthly cycle and the strongest positions on popular programmes go first. Allowing for production and asset delivery, start the conversation four to eight weeks before air.Enquiry to on-air, step by step
What is actually included in the published rate?: The published figure is the media cost of the exposure itself. Asset production, talent and model fees, shoot costs and overseas secondary usage rights are quoted separately. What a quote includes and what it does not
Can the broadcast be reused overseas?: SBS content travels through Netflix and VIU simulcast and TikTok Spotlight. SELLi secures the secondary usage rights separately so the broadcast can be reused as an overseas marketing asset.
